Dear Parents and Families,

This letter is to inform you that USD 383 receives Title I funding and will comply with “Parents Right to Know Information” required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) / Public Law Number 114-95. ESSA reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to ensure that every child achieves. ESSA is the nation’s general education law and, as such, has been revised by Congress many times over the years. The previous reauthorization took place in 2001 and was called the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). 

Parents may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child’s/children’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals including:

• Whether or not the teacher has met Kansas licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas being taught.
• The baccalaureate degree and any other graduate certification or degree and the field of discipline of both.
• If services are provided by paraprofessionals, and their qualifications.
• If the teacher is teaching under an emergency or professional waiver.

Parents will be contacted by the school if their child(ren) is taught for four or more continuous weeks by a teacher that does not meet the appropriate state certification standards

All students/families served in school-wide buildings and students/families served in targeted assistance programs must complete a parent/school compact. All parents have the right to request their child’s/children’s state assessment scores, and they have a right to obtain the school and school district state report cards.

2025-2026 – Accessing District, Building, and School Report Cards

Dear Caregiver, 

We want all our families to be informed about how to access building and assessment information. The information below has details about how to access the KSDE Building and District Report Cards, and how to access your child’s individual report card.

District and Building Report Cards

One report available to you is the State Report Card. This report is required and prepared by the Kansas State Department of Education. The report provides information concerning student performance on the Kansas Assessment Program (KAP), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. The Federal School Report Cards can be found on the KSDE website.

Student Report Cards 

Student report cards are shared three times a year at the end of each trimester (October conferences, February Conferences, and at the end of the school year). Please contact your student’s school if you have questions about accessing copies of individual report cards.
